What a celebration!
The first-ever South Durham Health (SDH) Awards Evening took place on 11th April 2025 at Ramside Hall, marking a big moment of celebration for everything great happening in General Practice. The event brought together staff from 17 member practices, along with partners, ICB and wider colleagues, to recognise amazing work being done in healthcare.
Planning kicked off in October 2024 and built up to a fantastic night with 192 people attending. There were 151 nominations across nine award categories, with independent judges helping to keep things fair and transparent. The evening featured a three-course dinner, entertainment, and the awards themselves – all hosted by local radio favorite Ian Brannan.
The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with guests praising everything from the hospitality and venue to the smooth running of the night and how recognition was handled. Many said they’d love to see the event return, and offered ideas to help make future nominations more inclusive and widely shared.
